Technology is advancing by leaps and bounds, and sewing machines have opened the door to creativity that takes less time and effort. But some things are so delicate, free-flowing, and personal that no machine could reproduce them. That’s why in our embroidery and cross-stitch classes, you won’t hear the sound of a single motor. Only the steady breathing of your classmates, Merche’s advice (she’s our teacher), and, occasionally, one of those unmistakable sounds of happiness, like laughter.
What we’re trying to say is that embroidery and cross-stitch aren’t just incredibly beautiful art forms; they’re also amazing therapy for restoring your inner peace. In fact, we’ve already told you all about the psychological benefits of sewing and crochet for relaxation. And we’re not making any of this up—you can verify it all for yourself.
That’s why the embroidery and cross-stitch classes we hold at our shop in Mataró are something special. Okay, yes, they’re all special! But these have something especially zen and relaxing about them, something that helps us connect with ourselves. On top of that, the lines and limitations imposed by a sewing machine disappear, and suddenly you have total freedom. The colors, shapes, motifs… everything can be exactly as you see it in your imagination.
When are the embroidery and cross-stitch classes?
Every Thursday (except holidays) from 16:00 to 18:00. Free yourself from tomorrow’s stress and spend the rest of the afternoon and evening floating on a little cloud. Right in the middle of the week to help you make it to the end :)
What level do I need to be at?
Exactly the level you’re at! The classes are for people who have never picked up a needle as well as for more experienced sewists who want to improve and perfect their technique.
What is the minimum and maximum number of attendees per class?
The minimum is one person, so you could even end up having Merche all to yourself. The maximum is eight—a small enough number to make a great team while ensuring everyone feels comfortable and receives plenty of attention with all their questions and projects.
How much do they cost?
The four-session pack costs €40. That means that, at €10 per two-hour session, it’s only €5 per hour!
