We know you do, too, so today we’re bringing you some of our prettiest creations for storing, sorting, and organizing your home and all your things in general. In this post, we’ll give you a few suggestions for how you can use them, but as you’ll see, you can use them however you like.
Fabric envelope for organizing documents.
Very practical for storing all kinds of documents, photographs, your child’s pediatrician’s record book… You can adjust the measurements depending on how you want to use it. You can make it tiny for storing cards or larger to use it even as an iPad sleeve. Because of its simplicity, you can make the pattern by eye. That said, keep in mind that if the fabric’s design has a particular direction, you’ll need to cut the pattern into three pieces and make the corresponding joins so it doesn’t end up upside down. Burlap basket for organizing drawers.
A sturdy basket that you can line inside with whatever fabric you like best. For the one you see in the photo, we used burlap and the vintage world map fabric, which is not only very pretty, but also has colors that stand up quite well to stains and the potential dirt that always seems to accumulate mysteriously in baskets and drawers. We also have a tutorial so you can see how to make this basket, which is so useful and simple. That’s how easy it is: in just 5 and a half minutes, you’ll learn how to create it. You can use it for anything: storing makeup in the bathroom, organizing yarn or thread, keeping your keys by the entrance, dividing drawers… I’m sure you’ve already thought of something you could use it for at home while watching the tutorial.
Fabric basket with (or without) a handle for storing pacifiers.
A little less sturdy than the burlap one, but also with lots of possible uses. To give it structure and help it hold its shape, we’ll use batting or interfacing of varying thickness, depending on the result we want. You’ll also learn how to make it in the simplest and most visual way possible with the tutorial for making a fabric basket. A great idea is to sew on a handle so you can hang it up. For example, you can hang it from your little one’s crib to store pacifiers or from the bathroom shelf to organize hairbrushes.
Roll-up pencil case for organizing crochet hooks.
In another post, we already told you about this multipurpose case for organizing pencils, pens, paints, and so on. But today we want to show you some other possible uses. For example, it’s a wonderful way to organize your crochet hooks, scissors, markers, the cutter… We also thought you could carry it in your purse to store your makeup: brushes, eyeliners, mascara, and lip glosses. Going camping? Use it to carry the silverware for the whole family. As you can see, we’re suggesting only a few of the many possibilities these small but mighty space organizers really offer. And of course, we also have a tutorial for making the roll-up pencil case (and it comes with a very special guest).
