Can you be a mom entrepreneur without losing your mind? Laura Fabregat Ferris, founder and driving force behind Lulú Ferris, shows us day after day that you can. With two little whirlwinds, Jan and Pol, ages five and two respectively, and a third on the way, our favorite superwoman successfully runs a brick-and-mortar store, a website with an online store, and a membership site (Lulu Ferris).

Do you want to be a mom entrepreneur like her?

Then you’re in luck! Laura was the subject of a fun interview packed with really useful advice. It was the last interview of the year on the most important Spanish-language online marketing podcast. With a very, very unusual interviewer, you’ll learn everything about Lulú Ferris and how to apply her experience to your own situation.

You can listen to the full interview here: as a preview, we’ll reveal some of its key moments.

Some tips for being a mom entrepreneur:

1. Find what you love and learn how to do it.

It’s that simple. When Laura was expecting her first little one, she realized that she couldn’t find the kind of children’s clothing and accessories she liked in stores. So, without hesitation, she bought a sewing machine and learned how to use it to make the clothes she wanted herself. That’s how Lulú Ferris was eventually born, after a process of gradual growth that you can learn about step by step in the interview.

2. If you don’t have a website, it’s as if you don’t exist.

Whether or not you have a brick-and-mortar store, if you want to be a mom entrepreneur (or simply an entrepreneur), it’s vital to have a website on the internet. A store keeps you connected to customers in your neighborhood, but a website expands your potential customer base to the whole world. Or at least to your own country. If caring for your little ones keeps you away from your physical business, you can always keep it alive from home.

3. Don’t choose the cheapest option: choose someone you can trust.

When you’re a mom entrepreneur, you have sooo many things to do and take care of… You need peace of mind and reliability. For example, when shipping orders, don’t choose the cheapest carrier: choose one that won’t let you down. Choose someone you can count on if something goes wrong and who offers you greater security, even if they’re more expensive. That principle applies to everything related to your business. In the interview, Laura shares all her secrets for controlling stock, managing order shipments, and many other things you need to keep in mind.

4. Thanks to my membership site, I pay the rent on my studio.

There are many other options that allow you to be a mom entrepreneur without needing a physical location. Do you know what an infoproduct is? Are you familiar with membership sites? Do you want to know how to get a return from your website or how to monetize it with these systems? Laura talks about that in the interview too, so don’t miss a thing—this is really, really interesting.

5. There will always be someone who knows more, but there will always be someone who knows less.

It doesn’t matter if you’re not the best at what you do: it’s simply about whether you’re able to contribute something, teach something, or give someone exactly what they need. Laura, our mom entrepreneur, knows she isn’t the best seamstress in the world, but that doesn’t matter. There will always be someone who does what you do much better, but what matters is that you know how to make a difference and have your own identity. Don’t let fear stop you from starting your business: just think about whom you can help and speak to that audience.

If you liked these tips, there are more waiting for you. You can be a mom entrepreneur; you can be whatever you want. Listen to this fantastic interview now and learn how. No, of course it isn’t always easy, but you’ll see that it’s worth it.
