Utensil Case Tutorial

Yes, because I never knew where to put my kids' utensils or napkin when they went on field trips, they ended up wrapped in the same paper napkin and half-scattered around the backpack, especially on the way home, so I decided to make this easy case for them.

Very practical, with pockets for the different utensils and another for the napkin, plus a snap closure.

And it doesn't have to be just for kids—if you go on a picnic or eat at the office, it can be incredibly practical for you too.

We made the inside with food-grade plastic fabric so it can be cleaned easily and we don't have to put it in the washing machine every time it gets dirty (in the case of children, every time they use it).

But if you prefer, you can make it with fabric on the inside.

And speaking of fabrics, the one we used in this tutorial features our Confetti design (if you're a Lulu Ferris member, you'll find it in your account so you can download it), printed on cotton fabric by Printing Fabrics.

Here's the PDF with all the materials and measurements we used.

And now let's sew!
