Hats, infinity scarves, neck warmers, sweatshirts, pants, jackets… Winter, even if it isn’t everyone’s favorite season, is a beautiful time of year that deserves to be enjoyed. And to do that, we need to stay nice and warm. That’s why today we’re showing you two essential warm fabrics you can find at the Lulú Ferris shop for your winter projects.
The perfect warm fabrics have to meet three conditions:
- They must be very soft: because there’s nothing worse than fabric that itches or scratches. Think of your favorite sweater or scarf… I’m sure it feels wonderful to stroke them and feel them against your skin.
- They must keep you warm: this one goes without saying. Warm fabrics are cozy and, as soon as we bring them close to our bodies, they give us that feeling that we could snuggle up in them and sleep all winter like marmots.
- They must be beautiful: this is a condition every fabric has to meet to be sold by Lulú. Warm fabrics, no matter how cozy and soft they are, don’t escape this rule either.
Sherpa fleece
A winter classic that has come back into fashion not only for interiors, but also for decorating the outside of garments and accessories. Collars, cuffs, pockets, details on footwear…
Although you may associate it with Christmas shepherd-boy costumes, it’s a perfect ally for fighting the cold. Use it to make linings that turn your warm garments into super-warm ones.

Fleece
This one can’t be missing either. Unlike sherpa fleece, which we need to use with another fabric, fleece works perfectly well on its own. That’s why you can use it alone or in combination with other materials. For the shop, we selected a dark gray (marengo) and a white, both of which pair well with any color.
Try it to make this hat and neck-warmer combination, a pair of pajama pants for lounging at home, or a cozy jacket. Besides being soft and warm, this fabric is incredibly comfortable, so anything you make with it will be wonderful.
