What you’ll make
Sew a fold-up organizer that keeps diapers, wipes, and small changing essentials together. One side holds diapers and a mesh pocket; the other holds a wipes package with an opening for pulling out individual wipes.
A fabric wrist strap makes the organizer easier to carry while your hands are occupied, and a wraparound elastic band keeps it closed inside a larger bag.
What you’ll learn in this class
- Create and finish the shaped opening for the wipes.
- Prepare the diaper pocket and bind the top of a mesh pocket.
- Baste the layered pockets securely to the organizer base.
- Sew and position a fabric wrist strap.
- Adjust the closure for the stretch of your chosen elastic.
- Turn the organizer through an opening and finish the outer edge.
Fabric and supplies
The project uses outer and lining fabrics, medium-weight interfacing or batting, mesh, bias tape, and elastic. Leave decorative elastic exposed or cover the closure with coordinating fabric.
Make it your own
Personalize the organizer with fabric appliqué, embroidery, or a labeled Kraft-Tex patch. Coordinate the mesh binding, wrist strap, and elastic with the main prints.
The video class includes the downloadable Diaper and Wipes Holder pattern and demonstrates the project from prepared pieces through the final turned finish.
