What you’ll make
Sew the Duna harem pants, a comfortable design with a roomy silhouette, elastic waist, side-seam pockets, and full legs drawn in at the ankles.
Shaped darts control the lower-leg volume before elastic is added at the ankles, creating a distinctive gathered finish that keeps the darts visible.

Fabric choices
Make the pants in woven or knit fabric. The sample uses Tencel with a viscose-like drape and slightly more body than a lightweight viscose.
Fluid fabric creates a softer, more relaxed silhouette, while fabric with more body emphasizes the leg volume. The class also discusses lightweight viscose, denim, and knit options.
The lesson explains how to match the needle to your chosen fabric and demonstrates a Microtex needle for the sample.
Make it your own
Choose where you want the pants to fall and adjust the length before forming the ankle darts. You can create a lower drape or shorten them for a more cropped look.
Leave off the side-seam pockets for a simpler version, or add back patch pockets using the separate pocket class mentioned in the lesson.
Finish the waistband with a simple folded casing or turn under the edge for a cleaner interior.
