What you’ll make

Sew a lightweight insulated carrier sized for your chosen bottle or drink container. Insulating fabric helps maintain the drink’s temperature, while a long strap makes the carrier easy to wear crossbody.

A drawcord and cord lock secure the top. Pair it with the insulated lunch bag for a coordinated set for work, picnics, or day trips.

What you’ll learn in this class

  • Measure a bottle and size the carrier to fit.
  • Combine exterior, lining, and insulating fabrics.
  • Construct and finish a cylindrical project.
  • Attach and reinforce a crossbody strap.
  • Sew a drawstring channel and add a cord lock.
  • Manage bulky transitions between layers.

Fabric and supplies

Choose coordinating exterior and lining fabrics, plus insulating fabric for the thermal layer. You will also need webbing, cord, and a cord lock.

Make it your own

Use your preferred bottle or container as the sizing guide. Add a slider for an adjustable strap or swivel hooks for a removable strap.

For a child’s version, choose a playful print and add a chalkboard-fabric appliqué where they can write their name.

Sizing

The class shows how to measure your chosen container and add room for construction and easy removal, so the carrier can be adapted to different bottles.
