What you’ll make
The Luna is a wrap blouse with overlapping fronts and backs, ruffle sleeves, and separate front and back waistbands.
Elastic in the back waistband adds give, while buttons connect the waistband sections at the sides.
The open wrap shape creates soft movement. The class also covers practical ways to secure the neckline and keep bra straps covered.
What you’ll learn in this class
- Stabilize curved and bias-cut edges.
- Join the wrap bodice and finish its diagonal edges.
- Attach the ruffle sleeves and sew a neat curved hem.
- Gather the lower bodice to fit the waistbands.
- Construct the front and elasticized back waistbands.
- Make buttonholes, attach buttons, and adjust the coverage.
- Add an optional snap-fastened bra-strap keeper.
Fabric choices
Choose a lightweight fabric with movement, such as viscose, lightweight cotton, or poplin.
Stay tape supports curves, diagonal edges, and waistband sections to limit stretching. The project also uses elastic and buttons.
Knit fabric can be used, but it behaves differently from the woven fabric shown. Stabilize the diagonal wrap edges if you choose a knit.
Make it your own
Adjust the front and back overlap for your preferred coverage, then secure selected sections with stitching or a small hook if needed.
For the open back, add narrow ties for a bow or sew a snap-fastened keeper inside to hold the blouse to a bra strap.
Finish the ruffle edge with the demonstrated hem, a narrow double-fold hem, or a rolled edge to suit your fabric.
Pattern sizing
The pattern covers sizes 34/36 through 54/56.
It is drafted for bust measurements of 86–132 cm, waist measurements of 64–110 cm, and hip measurements of 90–136 cm.
Finished length ranges from 46 cm in size 34/36 to 51 cm in size 54/56.
The video class includes the graded Luna pattern in A4 and A0 formats, plus an information file with measurements and fabric guidance.
