Mini Stroller/Crossbody Bag

In this sewing class, I’ll show you how to sew a practical small diaper bag that holds everything you need. It has snap-fastened straps for attaching it to a stroller, plus a long shoulder strap. The PDF includes two sizes.

What you’ll make

Sew a compact zippered bag for carrying diapers, wipes, a bib, and other everyday essentials on a stroller.

Two snap-fastened webbing loops fit around either a single push bar or separate handles.

An adjustable strap stores in a side pocket and clips to the opposite ring, converting the stroller bag into a crossbody bag when you need to carry it.

What you’ll learn in this class

  • Install a zipper between the exterior and lining.
  • Topstitch the zipper area for smooth opening and closing.
  • Attach the stroller loops, rings, and concealed strap.
  • Turn and finish a fully lined bag.
  • Create an optional boxed base for extra depth.
  • Add a slider and snap hook to the adjustable strap.

The straightforward construction makes this a practical project for newer sewists.

Fabric and supplies

The tutorial pairs vegan leather outside with cotton poplin inside. Add interfacing if your exterior fabric needs more support.

The design also uses webbing, snaps, a zipper, rings, a slider, and a snap hook. Clips help avoid permanent pinholes when working with vegan leather.

Make it your own

Choose the smaller or larger dimensions in the PDF, and leave the base flat or box the corners for added depth.

For more room and additional pockets, see the Multi-Purpose Diaper Bag.

Finished sizes

  • Small: approximately 26 cm wide, 18 cm high, and 3 cm deep.
  • Large: approximately 30 cm wide, 22 cm high, and 4 cm deep.

The class includes a downloadable PDF with both sizes and the materials required.
