Brown is one of the most abundant colors in nature. If you pay attention, it’s everywhere. Look around you right now: surely you can see something in this shade. Especially if you’re at home, in a building, or reading this post in the fall. It’s in wood, soil, and materials such as leather.
Warm and cozy
For this reason, brown is far removed from anything artificial, and we associate it with nature. That’s what makes us appreciate it so much in the spaces where we live. Think of a room or a business with wood ceilings and walls… Doesn’t it feel cozy?
It creates a very pleasant sense of warmth that pairs perfectly with other warm shades such as red, orange, or gold.
It also has another important advantage: it hides stains very well. That’s another point in brown’s favor for items that are difficult to clean, such as rugs or upholstery. And it makes brown the perfect ally for spending a day in the country or for making clothes for the kids, whose clothes are usually covered in stains 5 minutes after they put them on :)

Simplicity and adaptability
Brown is a color with little personality: it certainly doesn’t stand out like red, yellow, or electric blue. That’s why it is the color of simplicity, honesty, and also the ordinary. When we choose it to wear, we’re not trying to attract attention but to fit in.
This effect is partly transferred to the colors we pair it with: a bright color used in combination with brown will lose some of its own brilliance and become more subdued. That’s why it’s an appealing shade for shy people or those who prefer to go unnoticed.
