We're continuing with the Christmas preparations! Today we're going to give you 6 ideas for wrapping original gifts with fabric. In some of them, fabric is an accessory to paper, adding a personal touch to the most special gifts; in others, it's the star of the show. The great thing about these ideas is that they can either help you use up small pieces of fabric, or the fabric can become part of the gift itself. You know we don't like throwing anything away—not even wrapping paper!

IDEAS FOR WRAPPING ORIGINAL GIFTS WITH FABRIC
1. Gifts with t-shirt yarn
In one of our posts, we showed you how to wrap gifts with t-shirt yarn and gave you a complete tutorial with photographs. It's truly very original, and so far we haven't seen it on any other blog, so you can use it to make your gifts unmistakable this Christmas. You already know that you can buy t-shirt yarn ready-made in skeins, or make it yourself from used T-shirts. Easy, entertaining, and with a fantastic result.
2. Gifts with bow ties
We've come up with a way for the typical bow we put on gifts as decoration to be a gift too. On our YouTube channel, we have a tutorial for making a boy's bow tie and that's the bow we suggest using for children's gifts. For girls, it could also be used as a hair ribbon by sewing a small piece of elastic between the two ends of the fabric to make it adjustable. You can sew it yourself or ask us to make it for you :)
3. Gifts with mini garlands

This is a wonderful way to recycle small pieces of fabric. Just cut them into little triangles—or whatever shape you like for your mini garland—and sew them along a thread. If you prefer, you can also use a ribbon, strip of fabric, bias tape, or something similar, and attach the fabric pieces with fabric glue. Ideally, choose a neutral color for the background paper so the fabric colors stand out more. As in the photograph, you can give it the perfect finishing touch by writing a short message.
4. Gifts with burlap
In the post about Christmas decorations with sackcloth, we already suggested wrapping gifts with burlap and a little cord to give them a lovely rustic touch. But we've also seen this great idea for combining burlap with other materials—in this case, craft paper, branches or dried flowers, and a little washi tape. It looks beautiful and elegant, and all the wrapping components can be reused to make a craft.
5. Gifts with chalkboard fabric

Maybe you've already seen the chalkboard-style gift-wrapping technique. It involves using black paper and a white marker or pencil to decorate it. We thought we could do the same with chalkboard fabric, since that way the wrapping could be recycled to make all kinds of chalkboard fabric crafts. The fabric is quite thick, so you may have some trouble getting the corners to look neat, but remember that the most important thing is that the fabric itself is part of the gift. Use a cord to secure the wrapping without damaging it.
6. Gifts with furoshiki.
