Our panda bear fabrics first arrived at Lulú Ferris in 2016 and were a huge hit from day one. We’ve brought them back several times, and they never stay in stock for very long. But what is it about these adorable pandas that we love so much?
The truth is that pandas themselves inspire tenderness for many reasons. Have you ever thought about the fact that pandas are the only bears whose diet is almost exclusively vegetarian? They’re huge, strong, and stocky, with all the attributes a predator needs, but 99% of their diet is bamboo. It’s no wonder we have that image of a panda holding a bamboo stalk and chewing constantly, especially when you consider that they spend about twelve hours a day eating and can consume up to 40 kilos of this food every day.
In other words, they’re calm, peaceful animals, and because we don’t perceive them as a threat but rather as an adorable ball of fur, seeing them causes an instant wave of tenderness. Of course, the fact that they’re so beautiful and look at us with that incredibly cute little face helps too. All that tenderness and affection we associate with pandas in our minds is also conveyed by our panda bear fabrics, which is why they’re great for children’s projects.
There are very few pandas left in the world, fewer than 2,000 specimens, but we’re determined to fill the world with beautiful things that remind us that these magnificent animals are full-fledged inhabitants of this world, just like us, and that they must be protected.
Panda Bear Fabrics at Lulú Ferris
The design from Elvelyckan Design in organic knit fabric—which was used to make the case you can see next to these lines—contains all that panda tenderness. Printed in soft, delicate pastel shades, these panda Indians with their little feathers on their heads have taken the store by storm. You’re the ones who decide what’s in or out, what’s trendy and what isn’t, through your choices, and it’s clear that you’ve decided these pandas are the biggest thing of the season.
Right now, we still have stock of panda mint and panda rosa: we recommend not thinking about it for too long because they fly off the shelves.
And if you also love pandas but need regular cotton fabric instead of knit fabric, don’t hesitate to take home some Flos Friends Pandas by Makeower, a design that’s also a hit both online and at our physical store in Mataró. And honestly, we’re not surprised. In the Flos Friends collection, you can also find koalas and bunnies, each one more adorable than the last. Take a look at them.
And since pandas are so fashionable, we’ve even taken them out of the fabric designs and given them a three-dimensional form in one of the latest Lulu Ferris tutorials. Just look at how beautiful our panda-shaped height chart for children turned out!
With these fabrics, it doesn’t matter what you make— it’ll turn out beautiful! Just like pandas :)
