Sewing Classes in Mataró June 2016
Introduction to the sewing machine class
Can’t quite bring yourself to use the machine? Maybe you have one and still haven’t tried it, or maybe you’d like to buy one but don’t dare in case you’re not good at it or don’t like it (you will, you’ll see). Well, these classes are perfect for you! We teach you everything you need to get started: operation, stitches, maintenance, and lots of tricks that will make the beginning easier. In just two hours, you’ll leave ready to use the machine and with your first little project completed—a reminder that sewing is for you too. More information about prices and times here.
Specialty kids’ clothing course with Ottobre magazine
If you already have some prior knowledge of using a sewing machine and have completed your first projects but get confused by patterns, this is the course for you. An issue of Ottobre magazine is included in the price, and we’ll teach you how to trace and interpret the patterns. This is an eight-hour course in total, spread over two consecutive Saturdays, where an expert dressmaker will be available to answer all your questions and help you with everything. The maximum enrollment for this course is 5, so we can make sure the personal attention is excellent. See more details here.
Creative sewing classes
One of our most flexible options, both in terms of scheduling and because you can make whatever you want. We give you lots of ideas, and you choose the one you like best. In this case, you don’t need any previous experience with the machine—just lots of creativity and lots of enthusiasm for learning new and stimulating things. Are your mornings free? Your afternoons? Do Saturdays work better for you than weekdays? We adapt to everything! And most importantly, in these classes the materials and breakfast are included in the price. Find out everything here.
Embroidery and/or cross-stitch course
It’s not all about machine sewing! If you want to learn to sew by hand or improve your technique, this is the perfect course for you. Our teacher will not only teach you to embroider as if you were an expert, but will also give you lots of ideas for everything you can do with needle and thread: personalize clothes, create embroidered greeting cards, garlands, cushions… No prior knowledge is necessary, and if you’re starting from scratch, the shop has a starter pack with all the materials for just 5€. Baby/kid clothing course
Would you like to make adorable outfits for your little ones but aren’t interested in patternmaking? Then this is the course you need: we provide the patterns, so all you have to do is sew and sing. You need to have basic knowledge of using the machine, so if you’ve never sewn, you should take our introduction to the sewing machine class first. You can choose the pattern you like best from all the ones we have: overalls, skirts, pants, dresses, rompers, sweatshirts… Find out everything here.
Patternmaking, cutting, and sewing course
Are patterns giving you trouble? Do you want to learn how to make your own by taking measurements and transferring them to paper? Then this is your course. We’ll teach you from scratch how to master this technique, the key to total creativity: with everything you learn, you’ll be able to create your own designs and transfer them onto paper and fabric. If you already have some patternmaking knowledge but want to modify patterns or make them for specific, more complicated garments, we’ll also guide you through the entire process. Crochet or knitting classes
Alongside sewing classes in Mataró, we couldn’t leave out crochet or knitting classes. For all levels, from beginner to expert, and with all the materials: wool, cotton, t-shirt yarn… Classes take place on Friday afternoons, and you choose which ones you attend and which ones you skip depending on your availability or whether you want to go away for a wonderful weekend somewhere.
