We know it may be a little early for some of you to start talking about Christmas, but if you’re a crafty person, you’ll know that Christmas projects need to be prepared ahead of time. Christmas-themed fabrics also tend to fly off store shelves, so today we’re bringing you this post with some tutorials you may be interested in:
1.Placemats, coasters, and napkin ring.
If you’re going to host one of the big holiday meals, we’ve prepared this tutorial to give you an idea for decorating the table in a simple and beautiful way.
We made these placemats, coasters, and napkin ring to match one of the fabrics and patterns that are becoming trendy again—plaid. And we combined it with a perfect bottle-green felt. It couldn’t be more Christmassy or cozy.

2.Advent calendars
If you bought a panel and aren’t sure how to sew it, we have a tutorial on How to Sew an Advent Calendar Panel.
If you don’t have a panel and want to sew one from scratch, we have an easy and lovely tutorial. The Advent calendar is made with a burlap base and pockets made from cotton fabric. You can sew contrasting bias tape onto them like we did, hem them, or sew on some pom-poms.
At the top, it has reindeer appliqués and Merry Xmas letters, which you’ll find in the PDF for the same tutorial in Lulu Ferris.
In this tutorial, we show you how to sew soft, stuffed 3D letters that you can place standing on shelves or furniture. Another option is to sew some cords onto the back at the join so you can hang them in different places.
If you have a stick or branch, you can paint it red or make it match the fabric and hang the letters from it.
As you can see in the photo, they’re perfect for a photo session :)
Wreaths are a must-have in our Christmas décor. They’re usually hung on the door, but it’s up to you. We’ll show you step by step how to sew one as pretty as this. We’re bringing you the PDF with the snowflakes and letters, and you choose the design.
One tip I always give you is to mix and match tutorials. For example, you can take the PDF from the Advent calendar and make the reindeer appliqués.
