In today’s tutorial, we’ll show you how to sew a bath kit featuring a bag for solid soap to keep it from slipping out of your hands, a facial pad with one soft side and one exfoliating side, and a body mitt.

What you’ll make
Sew a reusable bath set with a drawstring soap bag, a two-sided facial pad, and a body mitt.
Soft cotton mesh provides gentle exfoliation, while bamboo or cotton terry creates a smooth side for washing and cleansing.
The hanging soap bag improves your grip on a slippery bar. The facial pad has a back strap, and the mitt slips over your hand for washing or exfoliating the body.
What you’ll learn in this class
- Sew a casing in cotton mesh and add a cord closure.
- Choose a reinforced stitch for sewing mesh.
- Layer fine terry and mesh to add body.

Fabric and materials
The samples combine cotton mesh with fine bamboo terry. Cotton terry is another option listed in the project PDF.
Choose mesh that feels soft against the skin. Twill tape finishes the pad and mitt, while cord and an optional wooden bead close the soap bag.
Make it your own
The sample soap bag starts with a mesh piece 30 cm wide by 23 cm high. The PDF notes that you can adapt these measurements to your usual soap bars.
Finish the facial pad with a compact back strap or leave a small loop for hanging it.
