What you’ll make
Sew the Lugo, wide-leg dress pants with front darts, slanted pockets, a zipper fly, belt loops, and a waistband with elastic across the back.
The tailored front is balanced by an adaptable elasticized back. Set the final hem after trying the pants on with the shoes you plan to wear.
Pair them with the Vigo Blazer for the matching set.
Balance the wide leg with the fitted London Bodysuit.
They also work with the Boston Sweater or Turtleneck Sweater.
What you’ll learn in this class
- Sew and press the front darts.
- Construct and secure the slanted pockets.
- Install a zipper fly with an inner fly shield.
- Assemble the wide-leg front and back sections.
- Build a waistband with elastic across the back.
- Make, position, and finish the belt loops.
- Sew the waist closure and final hem.
Fabric and materials
Use a woven fabric. A fabric with drape creates the fluid version shown in class; the samples include viscose twill and cupro-viscose.
A more structured woven will produce a firmer, more defined wide-leg silhouette.
Make it your own
Choose a soft, fluid fabric or a crisp, structured one. You can also adjust the back elastic before securing it and set the hem for flats or heels.
Sizing
The pattern covers 34/36 through 54/56. It supports waist measurements from 64–110 cm and hip measurements from 90–136 cm.
The finished length ranges from 105 cm in size 34/36 to 110 cm in size 54/56.
The class includes A4 and A0 Lugo pattern files and an information sheet with the measurement chart.
