What you’ll make
Sew relaxed cargo pants with an elastic waistband, diagonal front pockets, and optional patch pockets at the sides.
The design has a faux fly without a zipper. Add a drawstring at the waist, then finish the ankles with a straight hem or enclosed elastic.
What you’ll learn in this class
- Stabilize curved and diagonal edges.
- Sew and topstitch diagonal front pockets.
- Prepare and reinforce cargo pockets and flaps.
- Construct the faux fly.
- Attach the waistband and insert elastic.
- Add an optional drawstring through eyelets or buttonholes.
- Finish straight or elasticized hems.
Fabric options
The gray sample is described as viscose twill in class, while the ochre version uses fine-wale corduroy.
French terry and other woven or knit fabrics are also suggested, allowing either a polished or sporty result.
Make it your own
Use one, two, or no cargo pockets, and adjust their position before stitching. Eyelets are optional; worked buttonholes can provide the drawstring openings.

Pattern sizing
The information sheet lists sizes 36/38 through 52/54, covering waists of 70–110 cm and hips of 82–122 cm.
Finished length ranges from 109 to 113 cm by size. A4 and A0 pattern files are included.
