What you’ll make
Sew the Tricia Leggings, a comfortable stretch-knit garment with a fitted upper section, a straight leg below the knee, and a wide folded waistband.
Use Lycra for an activewear look, French terry for relaxed pants, or another suitable knit. The simple construction makes this an approachable first garment project.
What you’ll learn in this class
- Cut mirrored front and back pieces and transfer the notches.
- Choose a ballpoint, jersey, stretch, or super-stretch needle.
- Sew knit seams with a serger or suitable machine stitches.
- Match the leg, crotch, and waistband notches without stretching the fabric.
- Test and adjust the waistband fit before attaching it.
- Finish the hems with straight stitch, zigzag, or a twin needle.
Fabric and sewing considerations
The pattern is designed for stretch fabric. A knit that stretches both crosswise and lengthwise provides more freedom when pulling on and repositioning the leggings.
If the knit stretches only crosswise, the waistband may feel less flexible. The class explains when to consider making it wider and how to check its fit before finishing the garment.
Make it your own
Adjust the waistband for a closer or more relaxed fit, and check the leg length before hemming. Pair the leggings with the Calella Sweatshirt.
Other options include the cropped Irún Sweater or the Turtleneck Sweater, depending on the look you want.
Sizing and finished length
The pattern covers sizes 34/36 through 54/56, with waist measurements from 64–70 cm to 104–110 cm and hip measurements from 90–96 cm to 130–136 cm.
The listed total length ranges from 110 cm in size 34/36 to 115 cm in size 54/56. Try on the leggings before choosing the final hem position.
The class includes pattern files in A4 format for home printing and A0 format for copy-shop printing, plus a separate information and cover-sheet file.
