5 ways to make a girl's dress1. Strappy dress with an elasticized top
For this style, we chose a mix of fabrics and textures. Knit fabric for the top: soft, stretchy, and comfortable. And woven cotton fabric for the skirt, which we gathered and flared to add volume.
The pattern included in the tutorial ranges from 3-6 months to 5-6 years. It's absolutely adorable, and you can also make a diaper cover to match.
2. Long-sleeved dress with a hip seam
This is one of those styles you can make in both children's and adult sizes. It's warmer than the previous one, and this time we used the same fabric throughout the dress: knit fabric, so it's stretchy and very comfortable.
The patterns you'll find in Lulu Ferris range from 2 to 8 years for girls and from size S to XXL for women.
Pair it with some leggings, and you've got a cold-weather outfit.
3. Short-sleeved flared dress
As you can see, we like dresses with plenty of flare and joy. In this case, we took advantage of the properties of modal fabric to give it a beautiful drape.
Another advantage of modal fabric is that it's extremely soft and gentle on the skin, so if your little one has slightly sensitive skin, this fresh, summery style will be perfect for her.

Similar to the first strappy dress we linked to, but with a few variations. It's one piece instead of two, made from a single type of fabric, with snaps on the straps.

5. Dress/romper made by upcycling an adult T-shirt
And finally, one of the tutorials from our YouTube channel. In this video, you'll see us make a romper from a T-shirt, but you only need to modify the final part, leaving the bottom uncut and closing it up to turn it into a dress.
