What you’ll make
Make a short strappy dress with a lined stretch bodice and gathered skirt. It slips over the head without a zipper, buttons, or snaps.
Complete the outfit with diaper-cover bloomers or a Celtic knot headband.

Fabric and supplies
The bodice must be made from stretchy knit so the dress can pass over the child’s head. The skirt may use the same knit or a lightweight woven fabric.
The sample combines solid pink knit for the outer bodice and lining with a lightweight printed woven skirt.
Make it your own
Change the fabric pairing to make the dress casual, sporty, or more formal. You can also adjust the final skirt length before hemming.
