This March should already be the start of spring, but with cold snaps running rampant, it almost seems more like winter has just arrived. So, with the weather outside as it is, we've decided to round up our best cold-weather sewing projects, now that they're truly needed, and offer them all together so you and your little ones can stay nice and warm.

Some of them will also come in handy during that period when low temperatures start to recede: it's as simple as wearing these pieces on their own or with a good coat over them. One thing's for sure: they'll all be great for you. With the weather so crazy, you never know!

Cold-weather sewing projects: Tutorials

cold-weather sewing projects1. Fleece-lined hat

We made this adorable little hat last winter, and it still keeps our thoughts nice and warm. We chose the beautiful world-map fabric (one of our favorites) and added fleece on the inside to keep the warmth in. It's very easy to make, takes very little time, and is perfect for all ages. You can find the hat tutorial on our YouTube channel.

cold-weather sewing projects2. Turtleneck sweater

A classic among cold-weather sewing projects, with many different variations to choose from. We opted for a sweater that's loose and comfortable, perfect for everyday wear, allowing you to put another layer underneath if the cold really sets in. It looks great whatever your build, and in the video you'll even find a couple of variations to customize it to your liking. It's much simpler than it looks, and the result is spectacular.

cold-weather sewing projects hoodie3. Hoodie for little ones

This is one of our favorites, and we can't get enough of it every time we see it. Although we made a mini version for boys and girls, you can also adapt it to any size and make one for yourself. So comfortable, so warm, sooo soft… It's wonderful! It has a hood to protect them from the cold and rain, along with a super-professional finish. Perfect for any time of year.

cold-weather sewing projects pants4. Drop-crotch pants for a baby or child

And although this hoodie pairs beautifully with everything, wouldn't you like some matching pants? That's what we thought, so we also got to work on a pair of drop-crotch pants. Not only because they're very popular and look great, but also because this way you can use them for little ones who still wear diapers. Very, very comfortable.
