We’re back with the second part of our Christmas décor—or, you could say, Christmas accessories for the little ones at home. Kids love these holidays: decorating the house, helping with meals, making their lists, waiting for their Three Kings’ gifts, and so on. Really… what could be better than sewing things for them when you know how much they enjoy it?
So, if the first part left you wanting more, here’s the second part of our Christmas-flavored sewing tutorials.
1. Christmas tree with removable decorations.
This tree can be both a decoration and their favorite toy during the holidays.
The decorations are sewn with Velcro so the little ones can put them on and take them off and decorate the tree their own way. Among the decorations, you’ll find Rudolph, the classic tree ornament ball, and the star for the top.
These are the decorations we’re suggesting, but you can personalize them and make the ornaments however you like.
2. Wish-tree chalkboard.
Ask, ask, ask… How little ones love Christmas lists (and so do we… let’s be honest). This chalkboard tree is made with chalkboard fabric in the center, and you can use it for gift lists, shopping lists, food lists, wishes for the coming year… Whatever you want!
We decorated ours with pom-poms and a special little pocket for storing the chalk. The chalkboard is super easy to erase with a damp cloth, so you can make as many lists as you like—or change your mind.
3. Three Kings’ sacks.
This video tutorial is the best! As decorations, they’re amazing and look beautiful under the tree. Each sack has a different king; personalize it with the little one’s name or your own and their favorite king. In the tutorial, you’ll find the PDF with the templates for all three kings.
That way, when Their Majesties arrive on the magical night, they can leave the gifts inside the corresponding sack.
PS: You can also modify the drawings a little and make a Santa Claus version if your family prefers to celebrate this day.
4. Rudolph apron
We already know these days involve a lot of cooking, so if you have little helpers and don’t want them to get too dirty, Lulu Ferris has a video tutorial showing you how to sew a super-cute apron, with pockets and the most famous reindeer… Rudolph!
In the tutorial, you’ll find the PDF pattern for the apron and the appliqué templates.
And if you really, really like it, you can also modify the measurements a little and make aprons for everyone at home. That way, you can all match while cooking together as a family.
