Taking advantage of this cold snap we’re having, we thought it would be a good idea to remind you about the sewing video tutorials for the jackets and coats we have in our sewing academy, Lulu Ferris.
Perfect for staying warm. It features a large hood, a zipper, and two pockets.
In the coat pattern, you’ll find sizes 34 through 52. The fabric we used is from Tejidos de Moda. It’s called Mouflon Sofía and comes in different colors so you can give it a personal touch. Their boucle fabric could also work wonderfully.
Our pets get cold at this time of year too, so what could be better than making them a good coat to keep them nice and warm?
You can make the coat with custom measurements so it fits your pet perfectly. It closes with Velcro to make it easier to put on, although you can also use snaps if you prefer.
The fabrics we use in the step-by-step tutorial are from ByTricia: 100% cotton on the outside and super-soft sherpa on the inside. You can make it waterproof by applying a few coats of odicoat.
A perfect jacket for protecting the little ones at home from the cold, wind, and rain, thanks to its large hood and two zippered side pockets. They’ll keep their hands warm and have somewhere to store little things without losing them while playing or running.
It’s easy to sew and has a zipper closure so they can easily open and close it, although you can also use snaps without any problem.
The pattern includes step-by-step instructions from size 4–5 years through 12–13 years.
We made the jacket with softshell fabric, which you can find at Telas Maya.
A super-pretty jacket that’s perfect for the little ones at home, who definitely won’t be cold in it.
The pattern is available from 6–9 months through 4–5 years.
For the lining, we used velvet with our printed design from Printing Fabrics, which you can download from our Lulu Ferris sewing academy. But if you prefer, you can also use quilted fabric, which is warmer, sherpa, fleece…
Sports jacket that’s perfect for going out to exercise without getting cold.
The jacket has two zippered side pockets so you can carry your things without losing them along the way, a nice large hood in case it rains, and cuffs with thumbholes so you can keep your thumbs through them and keep your hands nice and warm.
The pattern is available from size 36–38 through 50–52. For this jacket, we decided to use softshell fabric, but if you prefer, you can use French terry knit fabric for more of a sweatshirt style.
And so rain doesn’t stop us from leaving the house and enjoying ourselves, we’d like to remind you that we have a fantastic raincoat for girls, boys, and women.
The raincoat includes a hood with an optional drawstring to keep every drop out, a snap closure, two pockets, and a nice long length so we can get home as dry as possible.
The women’s pattern sizes are 36/38 through 48/50, and the kids’ sizes are 2/3 through 12/13.
Finally, we couldn’t make a reminder list without mentioning the fantastic bomber jacket we have for women and children.
We made this bomber jacket with two pockets, cuffs, and a waistband. To make it warmer, we used floral-print corduroy fabric from Dashwood studio for the outside. For the inside, we used knit fabric, and for the cuffs and collar, rib knit—ideally a heavier one.
The pattern for children ranges from size 4/5 years through 10/11 years, and for women, from S through XXL.
